How it all began.......

My love of collecting antiques and my passion for creating jewelry all came together in November of 2005.  After two years of construction, on November 15th, Antiques & Uniques opened it's doors .  This was literally my hobby gone wild that turned into a full blown business.  I never realized how fast it would grow and how many interesting turns it would take along the way!   After two years in business, I was overwhelmed with responsibilities and to be honest, a little burnt out.  It was a heavy burden because I built this beautiful store, people loved it yet I felt like I had the weight of the world on my shoulders and I wasn't quite sure what to do with it.

In the meantime, one of my best friends was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  From the moment we found out, my entire outlook on life changed.  I was no longer unconscious about what I was doing with my life.  I became more conscious about what I ate, how I thought and what I gave back to the world.  I no longer took life for granted.  For you never know when life is going to throw a curve: and another curve it threw.  My grandfather was also diagnosed with cancer.  I watched my grandfather show by example how to live life until the very last moment.  He showed me to make the most out of every day and live life to the fullest.  In one year I saw the two sides of cancer.  The one side that survived it and one that did not.  

In January 2008, physically and emotionally exhausted,  I decided to take some time off and do something totally different than what I have done in the past.  I signed up for a Sprit Communication Class with Maureen Hancock. I had a blast!!!  It gave me a whole new outlook and I craved more.  So more classes is what I took.  Energy Balancing Classes, Bach Flower Remedies and Aroma therapy. I started to feel good again.  I believe that knowledge is power.  It helped me put focus back into my very uneasy world.  In attending these classes I came to realize that my store would be an ideal Wellness Center, hence Collective Souls was created.  I realized that by collectively working together, we truly can make a difference.
